How to Save Money and Still Have Clear Skin

Ah… Clear skin. The bane of my existence… and my pockets.

Some people hit the genetic lottery and can put Victoria’s Secret’s perfume packed hand lotion on their face and still have glowing clear skin. Not all of us can be those people though, and so, we have to spend hundreds of dollars regularly trying on many products in the market to make up for what we lost in the genetic pool and find a solution to our pimple filled problems. Luckily, I have sacrificed my own face trying a million different products and can help you out. Okay, maybe not a million, but definitely a whole lot, and can now share some tips with you on how to find the right products for your skin needs, so you are not spending more than you need to and can spend that money on a baecation somewhere.

Below are the steps. Read carefully.

  1. Identify your skin type.

Some people have oily skin, some have dry skin, and some are somewhere in-between. It is important to identify your skin type before you hit the product market and start buying everything because your favorite Influencer said so.

  1. Identify your Skin needs.

Once you have identified your skin type, it is important to zero in on your skin needs so again, you are not left buying everything to try. For example, if you have acne-prone skin, but still have dry skin, you will need to find a product that provides moisture for your skin, but does not leave it oily. Knowing what your skin type is will give you a starting point as to what your skin needs are.

  1. Research products for your skincare needs.

Now that you know your skin type and your skin needs, it is time to go shopping. But wait! You have to know what to shop for before you whip out that credit card.

The skincare market is heavily saturated with products, so it is important to do some research before spending your coins. Remember, we are trying to save money here.

This step is where your favorite influencers, Youtube, Amazon, and google will come in. Start with the simple search – “great skincare products for XYZ skin type”. Once you find some products you might be interested in, make sure to READ REVIEWS on them. You don’t want to buy something that won’t help you, so narrow your search and read the reviews until you find something that feels right.

  1. Visit the Beauty Section in your Local Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Ross

You know all those super expensive products the celebrities rave about all day? Well guess what, you can find them at your local Marshalls for under USD10.00. I don’t believe that something has to be expensive to be good quality, but sometimes in the skincare world, it might be true. So your best bet to get those otherwise expensive products is just a quick drive to those stores and you’ll be able to own them.

  1. Make your own products

If you are in a part of the world that doesn’t have those stores, not to worry, I have a Coupon Caty solution for you too. It’s simple. Just make your own products! Most skincare products have a base of natural products to compliment the chemicals, so what you need to do is just use those products directly. For example, Cucumbers, Lime, Watermelon, Papaya (pawpaw), Avocado, Banana, Palm Kernel Oil, etc. are all products you can buy in your local produce market that double up as food and face masks. Get double for your money and go for these options.

  1. Eat and Drink according to your skin needs

Water is your friend! It might sound too easy, but drinking water is your first step to having clear skin. It nourishes, it hydrates, it maintains elasticity, builds collagen, flushes out toxins from the body…. It does it all! Drop the tequila and pick up a water bottle .. or you can put the water in your tequila glass like I do and trick your body into thinking it’s liquor. Either way, bottoms up!

There you have it! Your 6-step starter pack to getting clear skin, while saving some big bucks! Six is a random number, I know, but I guess it will have to do in this case until the next time we chat. Hope it helps!
